Anybody remember that late 1970’s rock song My Sharona by the Knack? It had a hard bass beat and actually won a Grammy (you can hear it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BR2JtsVumFA) . Well the pandemic du jour just happens to fit nicely into the lead lyric – My Corona! I thought that was kinda cool and when I sing it aloud it makes me laugh a little. I know, I know, the world wants us to be fearful and separate (socially isolated, sigh) and I get it. But really, I need some joy and laughter in my life, I don’t care <em>what'</em>s going on. So singing My Corona makes me laugh and smile and move on to more pleasing and important thoughts. Think about it: if you are washing your hands and not coughing on people (or being coughed on), making sound decisions about how you live your daily life, not just these days but all the time, what more is there to do? I’ll keep this short and sweet. LIVE YOUR LIFE PEOPLE! Stay happy, stay healthy (do your best) and don’t let fear run you. Remember, fear and faith cannot coexist so if you believe in a Creator of all the wonders of the world and endless beauty therein, that makes your heart beat and your lungs breathe, use them to take a deep breath and relax. This too shall pass. And if for some reason you just can’t relax, go crack a cold one and listen to the song above. Bet you’ll feel a little better. Sending love as always. FIG |
